SAN BERNARDINO – The CSUSB Coyotes exerted their will and won their third-straight game in an 89-73 win over CSU San Marcos at home on Saturday.
The Yotes led by 10 at halftime and pushed past a brief Cougar run in the second half to earn the victory.
Tyrell Henderson was everywhere on the court, shooting 70 percent for 18 points with three assists.
Jeremy Smith matched his 18 with eight assists and
Andres Villa scored 14.
Daytone Jennings added 13 and
Jordan Mitchell had 10 as five Yotes scored in double figures for the third time this year.
The Yotes had 24 assists as a team, shot 53.8 percent, made 10-of-19 threes, and led on the glass, 42-34. They only turned the ball over seven times in the all-around effort.
"Our offense has been great all year," Henderson said. "We focus on defense and rebounding in the second half, and when we do that, we get wins."
Jennings posted a double-double with 12 rebounds for the Yotes, who head into 2020 with a 9-3 record and 4-2 conference mark. They open the new year at San Francisco State on January 2 at 7:30 pm. Live links are on CSUSBathletics.com.
