SEASIDE – The CSUSB Coyotes let one slip away late in their quest for two-straight wins on Saturday, falling late to CSU Monterey Bay, 67-68.
The Yotes lost the lead at the 3:40 mark of the fourth quarter, but came back to tie at 64 with 1:30 left. The Yotes had a free throw and putback go awry in the final seven seconds.
The Coyotes led by as much as seven in the third quarter as they outscored the Otters 27-15 in that quarter.
Tehya Burroughs had a great game for CSUSB with 26 points and four rebounds.
Tatianna Russell added 15 and
Kayla Bibb scored 12. Bibb added nine boards to lead the squad.
The game was statistically almost dead even across shooting percent, and field goals and three-pointers made. The Otters made one more free throw for the edge. The Yotes led on the glass, 36-32, and dished 13 assists led by four from Bibb and Russell.
