SAN BERNARDINO – The CSUSB Coyotes keep getting better and it showed on Sunday afternoon, as they battled No. 4 UC San Diego in a 59-70 loss.
The Yotes led most of the first quarter and pulled within three in the third quarter, never letting the Tritons run away.
Tehya Burroughs led CSUSB with 19 points and
LeAundra Walker-Brown added 11 as
Ashlynn Sharp scored 10.
Emily Herring grabbed eight rebounds and
Tatianna Russell had nine. The Yotes shot 36 percent from the field, including 42 percent in the first quarter. The Yotes held UCSD to 35 percent shooting but they made 15 threes.
Next up the Yotes will face Loyola Marymount on December 7 in an exhibition in Los Angeles.
