SAN BERNARDINO (May 3, 2018) — A 16-hit attack put CSUSB in control as the Coyotes went to take the opening game of their series against Cal State LA, winning 12-8 on Thursday at Fiscalini Field.

CSUSB matched its season victory total from a year ago as it improved to 15-32, 15-26 CCAA. CSULA fell to 24-22, 21-20.

Ty Lineberger went 5-for-5 at the plate with an RBI-double in the second.
And not to be outdone
Gabe Chavez added a pair of doubles, including a key two-run two-bagger in the eighth. CSUSB, which led 9-8 through seven innings, added three runs in the eighth for extra cushion.

Garrett Ouellette came through with his third HR of the season with a leadoff blast to right in the second.
