CHICO (January 11, 2018) — Chico State outlasted the Coyotes on Thursday night, hitting six consecutive free throws in the final two-plus minutes and held on for a 64-57 CCAA victory.

Kaitlyn Parks and
Arianna Knox were the offensive kingpins for CSUSB, now 6-9 overall and 4-7 CCAA. Parks led in scoring with 14 points on 7 of 13 shooting. Knox followed with 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Parks and Knox combined on 11 of 21 shots for CSUSB.
Jasmine Sauser joined in double figures with 10 points and
Ashley Carson had eight.
Key moment
CSUSB, which trailed throughout, played its way back into the game late in the third quarter. Trailing 47-38, the Coyotes produced a 9-0 run to tie at 47-47 with 38 seconds left, thanks to a three-point play by
Tehya Burroughs. The fourth quarter was largely a two-possession game and Knox's two free throws put the Coyotes to within a point of the lead (58-57) with 2:54 left. But the Wildcats held the Coyotes scoreless for the remainder and went 6 of 6 from the line for the victory.
Rough start
The Wildcats (9-6, 7-4) hit their first five shots and led 16-4 in the opening 3 ½ minutes.
Perfection end
Knox entered the game a perfect 16 of 16 from the free throw line this season. She went 3 of 4 for the night.
