CHICO (May 12, 2017) — Cal State San Bernardino's season came to an end Friday afternoon in the NCAA West 2 Sub-Regional, losing 5-3 against Chico State in a loser-out contest.
CSUSB, which was playing in just its third NCAA Tournament in history and first in six seasons, finished 38-21 overall. The Coyotes return all but seniors LHP

Trailing 1-0 through one inning, CSUSB struck with a two-run, two-hit second inning.
Caitlyn Olan led off with a double to right center and pinch-runner
Amanda Fitzgerald scored when Angulo connected on a two-out single to short.
Briana Quintana, who reached on an error by the shortstop, scored on another infield error.
Chico came back to tie in the third, then took the lead for good in the fourth on a lead-off home run by Megan Bowley in the fifth and the Wildcats up 3-2.
The Wildcats added two in the seventh before CSUSB's
Jessica Brown led off the seventh with a home run — her 13
th on the season.
Morgan Ratliff, Olan, and Angulo had two hits apiece — Olan with a pair of doubles.
Williams took the loss in four innings with two strikeouts, no walks and scattering eight hits. Reliever
Amanda Ramirez threw three innings and gave up two runs with three strikeouts.
Humboldt State 5, Coyotes 1
The Lumberjacks sent eight batters to the plate in the second inning, scoring four runs on three hits and the Coyotes never recovered in Friday's first game.
HSU's Madison Williams dominated with a two-hitter, striking out nine and walking just one.
Trailing 4-0, CSUSB broke through in the fifth.
Amanda Herrera broke up Williams' no-hit bid with a single up the middle.
Jessica Angulo followed with a run-scoring double to left center.
Coyotes' starter
Amanda Ramirez (16-9) gave up four runs on four hits in two innings.
Cassandra Williams struck out three and gave up seven hits in her four innings of relief.
