ST GEORGE, Utah (Feb. 9, 2017) — The Coyotes suffered a tough break when Montana State-Billings' Cameron Cassinelli hit a two-out, two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh in the Coyotes' 5-4 loss at the Dixie State Easton Tournament on Thursday.
The Coyotes (4-2 overall) continue tourney play Friday against Concordia-Portland and Western Washington.
Down 3-0 through two innings, CSUSB worked the lead in its favor.
Caitlyn Olan drove in
Morgan Ratliff on a fielder's choice in the fourth, and in the fifth,
Taylor Ancona connected on a two-run single and
Jessica Brown immediately followed with a two-out, RBI-double.
Ancona and Brown, and
Briana Quintana all had two hits.
Senior LHP
Cassandra Williams struck out three, walked two and scattered eight hits. Three of her five runs were unearned.
MSUB improved to 3-8.
