SAN BERNARDINO (Nov. 25, 2017) — The Coyotes shook aside four years of frustration after walking off the Coussoulis Arena court in a 77-70 win over Humboldt State on Saturday night.

CSUSB last defeated the Lumberjacks in San Bernardino during the 2013-14 season — CSUSB's last CCAA championship and NCAA Tournament team.
 
Who stood out
Senior Blake McBride scored a team-high 21 points on the strength of five 3-pointers and a perfect 6 of 6 free throw effort. Joining McBride in double figures were Jacardo Hawkins (12) and T.D. Dixon (12).
 
Wholesale distribution
CSUSB dealt 18 assists on 25 field goals. Ajon Efferson led with five, followed by McBride and Justin Frazier with four each. Elijah Brown had three.
 
Difference maker
CSUSB led for more than 35 minutes in its seven-point victory. A 19-6 run that began with 7:55 left in the first half. McBride had seven points in that stretch and Dixon and Hawkins each had five.
 
Down the stretch
CSUSB led by as many as 14 (67-53) with 6:39 left in the game. HSU answered closed to within four (74-70) with 13 seconds left, but that was as close as the Lumberjacks got.
 
What's next
CSUSB (3-3, 1-1 CCAA) is at UC San Diego on Thursday night. HSU dropped to 3-4, 0-2.
