PORTLAND, Ore. (Nov. 10, 2017) — CSUSB completely took over Central Washington in the early second half, outscoring the Wildcats 17-2 in a six-minute span for its first victory in 2017-18.
About the win
CSUSB's 81-62 victory is the program's largest point differential since defeating San Francisco State 77-58 on Jan. 29, 2015.
Why it is an important win
CSUSB (1-1 overall), predicted to finish eighth in the CCAA preseason poll, defeated one of the more decorated GNAC programs. The Wildcats are predicted to finish third in the GNAC coaches vote.

CSUSB shot 46.2 percent from the floor on 30 of 65 shooting. It hit 8 of 19 3s (42.1 percent) and hit 13 of 15 free throws. The Coyotes never trailed in the contest, and held CWU to just nine FGs in the second half.

"That's a team that normally scores in the high 80s and holding them to 62 points is a credit to the guys and their effort,'' Oliver said. "We had a great week of practice and it carried over tonight. Balanced scoring was impressive and we were much improved on our assist to turnover ratio from last Friday night.''
