LA JOLLA (Oct. 1, 2017) — Sarah Bradley and Rachael Figg combined on four shots on goal, but it wasn't to be in CSUSB's loss to No. 7 UC San Diego in CCAA play Sunday afternoon.
 
What it means
CSUSB, which has lost its last two games, take a 5-5-1 overall record and 3-3 CCAA slate into the final regular-season home games this week with Sonoma State (Friday) and Humboldt State (Sunday). UCSD improved to 9-2, 6-0.
 
The difference maker
The teams went into halftime tied at 0-0 and UCSD's Mary Reilly broke through in the 57^th minute. It was her fifth goal of the season. Both Bradley and Figg had shots on goal after the Tritons' goal.
 
At the net
Junior GK Destiny Collins had four saves — two in each half.

We gave a very good accounting of ourselves, but were undone by a bit of magic. It was a great finish by them, and if we are to be defeated, those types of goals you applaud. I'm proud of the team's fight and effort and how we finished the game off by being on the front foot.''
