STOCKTON (March 4, 2016) -- For the second straight season the Coyotes had their season come to an end at the hands of Cal State Dominguez Hills in the CCAA Tournament semifinals.
Chelsea Barnes led the Coyotes with 23 points, but it wasn't enough in their 77-71 loss to the Toros. CSUSB completed its season 14-13 overall under first-year coach Sue Crebbin.
The Toros led by as many as 12 in the first half, and despite outscoring CSUDH 38-34 in the second half, the Coyotes could not get the upper hand, despite a frantic final five minutes of play.
Trailing 72-60 with 4:53 to go, the Coyotes outscored the Toros 11-0 in the next three-plus minutes.

Bisera Peshkova 3-pointer, and a free throw from Barnes cut the lead to eight. Then
Sophie Bhasin drained a 3-pointers and Barnes added a layup and the Coyotes were within one possesssion of the lead since the first half, 74-71.
Barnes laced a layup cut the Toros' lead to 72-71 with 2:03 left. But that was as close as the Coyotes could get. They had just one field goal attempt the remainder of the game and committed two turnovers in that stretch.
Bhasin had 14 points off the bench, and
Adriana Brodie had 12 with 10 rebounds and
Brianna Harden had 12.
Alexcia Mack had eight assists.
Highland native Breanne Garcia led the Toros (22-8) with 26 points.
