SAN BERNARDINO (Oct 27, 2016) — CSUSB had its eight-game unbeaten streak and six-game winning streak come to an end Thursday afternoon in a 1-0 loss to No. 8 UC San Diego at Coyote Premier Field.
CSUSB (8-6-1 overall, 7-3-1 CCAA) completes its regular season Saturday afternoon against Cal State San Marcos on Senior Day.
UCSD (15-2, 11-0) entered play having allowed only one goal in conference play and that proved to be the case against the Coyotes. CSUSB was out-shot at one point 17-1 and the Coyotes had just shot on goal against Tritons' GK Itzel Gonzalez.
Trailing 1-0, CSUSB's best opportunity for a goal came in the 66
th minute when senior
Paige Kang ripped a hard shot down the middle of the field. However, Gonzalez stretched out and flicked the ball up and away from the top post.
Aimee Ellis scored the game's only goal in the 59
th minute on an unassisted shot to the top right corner from 15 yards out.
UCSD outshot the Coyotes 21-4.

Megan Vina was peppered in the net, but kept her team in the game with a season-tying eight saves.
