ARCATA (Jan. 30, 2016) -- The Coyotes fought back from a 13-point deficit against host Humboldt State, but fell short in an 80-73 overtime loss in CCAA basketball Saturday night.
Adriana Brodie led the Coyotes, now 10-8, 7-7 CCAA, with 20 points. Three others scored in double figures:
Brianna Harden (18), and
Alexcia Mack and
Chelsea Austin with 11 apiece.
Trailing 58-45 entering the fourth quarter, the Coyotes manufactured a 23-8 run and grabbed the lead 68-66 on Harden's jumper with 43 seconds left.
A Kiana Brown layup tied the game at 68-68, and the Coyotes had a chance for the win, but Mack's 3-point attempt was off.
In overtime, CSUSB led by five (73-68), but HSU outscored the Coyotes 12-0 in the final 4:05, hitting 10 straight free throws.
HSU (9-11, 6-7) was led by Brown with 18 points.
CSUSB steps outside of conference play for the final time Tuesday night when it takes on Point Loma in San Diego.
