Coyotes dominate Cal State L.A.

Box Score

LOS ANGELES (Feb. 7, 2015) -- The defense never rested for the Coyotes on Saturday night as they dominated Cal State L.A. 64-49 in CCAA men's basketball.

CSUSB won its fourth straight game and moved above the .500 level, improving to 10-9 overall and 10-6 in the CCAA.

The Coyotes stunted the Golden Eagles to just 14 field goals and forced 17 turnovers in as pure a sign of dominance as can be shown in the CCAA. CSULA shot just 28.6 percent for the game. In fact, CSULA hit just two field goals in the first 12 minutes of the game, allowing CSUSB to lead by as many 14 points just 10 minutes into the game.

Everett Turner led the Coyotes with 16 points and Tevin Harris 13 with four players scoring eight points -- Jacob Thomas, Isaiah Morton, Taylor Statham and Abdi Faras. Turner had four assists and Morton had three steals.

CSUSB never trailed and led by as many as 19 with 8:05 left on a Faras jumper, 57-38.

The Coyotes return to Coussoulis Arena on Thursday night when they take on league-leading Chico State.

CSULA (8-12, 6-10) was led by Andre McPhail and Joel Brokenbrough, each with 11.
