HAYWARD (Feb. 20, 2015) -- The Coyotes clinched a CCAA Tournament berth with one of their most efficient victories this season in their 78-65 win over host Cal State East Bay on Friday night.

The Coyotes (12-10, 12-7 CCAA) clinched the berth with their victory and losses by Cal State Monterey Bay and Sonoma State. CSUSB faces Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday night.

Jacob Thomas finished one assist shy of becoming only the second player in school history to record a 20-point, 10-assist night. His 21 points were a game-high and nine assists a season best. Senior Isaiah Morton was right behind with 20 points. Everett Turner (14) and Taylor Statham (13) also had double-digit night.

CSUSB shot 51 percent from the field on 26 of 51 from the floor and outrebounded the Pioneers, 30-24. They converted 15 Pioneers turnovers into 24 points, and dealt 20 assists.

Morton hit three 3-pointers that helped key a 27-11 run in the first 10 minutes of the half and CSUSB cruised to the victory.

Jacari Whitfield had 16 points for the Pioneers (6-19, 4-15).
