SAN BERNARDINO (Dec. 1, 2015) – CSUSB faced an uphill fight for nearly the entire game Tuesday against Cal State East Bay in its 76-55 loss in the CCAA opener for both teams at Coussoulis Arena.

Chelsea Barnes led the Coyotes (3-2, 0-1) with 17 points and fellow senior
Alexcia Mack added 10. Senior
Adriana Brodie was the next highest in the scoring column with eight points.
The Pioneers took control in the second quarter when they outscored CSUSB 21-4 until Brodie scored on a layup with three seconds remaining in the half and CSUEB led 37-21.
CSUSB never got closer than 12 in the second half, thanks to a pair of free throws from senior
Brianna Harden that made the score 39-27 with 6:22 left in the third.
In fact, CSUEB led for all but 2 minutes and five seconds. It outscored the Coyotes in the paint, 42-14.
Tori Breshers led the Pioneers (5-2, 1-0) with 24 points. They were 30 of 66 from the field (45.5 percent).
CSUSB next plays at Stanislaus State on Thursday night.
GAME NOTE: The 21-point loss was the largest margin of defeat for the Coyotes in the 23-game series. The previous was a 65-45 loss on Nov. 17, 1990.
