SAN BERNARDINO (Oct. 31, 2015) — A pair of second-half goals put the Coyotes in control in their 2-1 season finale victory over visiting Humboldt State in CCAA women's soccer on Saturday afternoon.
The win snapped the Coyotes' seven-game losing streak as they close the year at 5-10-3 overall and 4-7-1 in the CCAA.
Down 1-0 when Humboldt State's Bridget Daley scored in the 37th minute, the Coyotes gathered up themselves and played an inspired second half.
Senior All-CCAA forward
Melanie Aguayo tied the game at 1-1 when she drove a shot from 25 yards out on a pass from
Gabby Evaristo in the 67th minute.
Then after HSU's Jillian Anderson was called for a red card in the 75th minute,
Paige Kang ripped a free kick through the box and the Coyotes had their 2-1 lead.
The Coyotes out-shout the Lumberjacks 20-5 with 11 shots on goal. Aguayo had six shots on the day and
Amanda Lopez and Kang each had three.
Emily Whyte earned the win in goal with two saves.
CSUSB honored its five seniors —

Kiersten Miller,
Steffany De La Torre,
Jill Wierzbicki and Aguayo — in a pregame ceremony.
HSU is now 9-7-2, 5-5-2.
