TURLOCK (Oct. 9, 2015) -- Freshman
Denae Verdine came through with a first-half goal, but Stanislaus State answered back with two second-half tallies in a 2-1 win in CCAA women's soccer Friday night.
CSUSB (4-4-3, 3-1-1 CCAA) plays at Cal State East Bay on Sunday.
Verdine scored on an unassisted play in the 20th minute. She dribbled from midfield all the way to inside the box for the strike.
However, the Warriors tied the game in the 56th minute, and then earned the game winner in the 87th minute on a corner kick that Nichole Donald won on a scramble for the finishing touch.
The Coyotes had just two shots in the first half and finished with seven, but only two SOG. They were 0-for-6 on corners.
