Box Score LA JOLLA (Jan. 23, 2015) -- Isaiah Morton led the Coyotes with 11 points and Tevin Harris added 10 in the Coyotes' 74-52 loss to UC San Diego in CCAA basketball Friday night.
The loss ended CSUSB's 12-game series winning streak against the Tritons, who shot 52.8 percent from the field on 28 of 53 shooting. The Coyotes (6-8, 6-5 CCAA) complete the first half of CCAA play at Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday night.
UCSD closed the first half on a 20-7 run over the final 6:53 for a 35-23 lead at the break.
The Tritons utilized a solid shooting effort in the second half, hitting 58.6 clip from the field. Meanwhile, the Coyotes were just 33.3 percent on 8-of-24 shots. They trailed by as many as 25 points with 31 seconds left.
Jeff Van Dyke led the Tritons (10-5, 8-3) with 16 points. Hunter Walker had 13.
Jacob Thomas, who led the Coyotes in scoring in each of the last seven games, finished with nine points.
Defensively, the Coyotes' Everett Turner had four steals and Morton had two.
