Box Score SAN BERNARDINO – No. 15 Cal State San Bernardino found bench strength and outside shooting to quell visiting Sonoma State in an 82-48 victory before 1,059 at Coussoulis Arena on Friday night.

The Coyotes won their 20th game on the season – the ninth time in coach Jeff Oliver's 12-year career – and recorded their largest margin of victory over the Seawolves in their 43-game history.

Senior Jordan Burris led four Coyotes in double figures with a game-high 15 points. Fellow seniors Lacy Haddock (13 points) and Kirby Gardner had 10 and sophomore Zeke DeBlase came off the bench with 12 on four 3-pointers.

DeBlase helped trigger the pivotal run on the night for the Coyotes with 8:51 remaining in the first half. Down 14-13, DeBlase scored three of the Coyotes' six 3-pointers in a 29-6 run that put the club in complete control over an eight-and-a half minute span.

Juan Martinez had two treys and Haddock added the other for the Coyotes, who closed the half hitting five of their last six shots and fired 48.4 percent from the field and 50 percent of their 3-point shots.

Oliver received points from all 10 players who dressed. Martinez had nine.

Also, seven Coyotes had five rebounds or more with junior Christian Cooper leading the way with seven. And CSUSB contributed 21 assists on its 29 field goals.

This week's CCAA player of the week and Coyotes' leading scorer Andrew Young did not dress. He injured a foot in Thursday's practice.

CSUSB (20-3 overall and 17-2 CCAA) remains tied with No. 21 Cal Poly Pomona for the conference lead with three games left. The Coyotes close their home portion of the 2013-14 campaign Saturday night against San Francisco State, which lost 76-51 at UC San Diego on Friday.

The 34-point victory surpasses the previous CSUSB series high over SSU – an 86-58 win on March 14, 2004.

SSU (5-18, 4-15) was led by Justin Herold and Khalid Johnson, who both had 10 points.
