UCLA football preseason camp will be held at CSUSB

Bruins will practice and prepare for upcoming season at CSUSB on August 3-16

UCLA football coach Jim Mora and the Bruins will make CSUSB their preseason home this August.
SAN BERNARDINO – California State University, San Bernardino will be the setting for the UCLA football preseason camp, the universities announced Tuesday afternoon.

The Bruins, under first-year head coach Jim Mora, will conduct fall camp from August 3-16 on CSUSB's athletics fields, located on the east side of campus.

“We believe the move to CSUSB will be a very positive experience for our football team,'' Mora said. “We are excited for the opportunity to continue to lay the foundation for the coming season.”

This marks the second time in less than a year that UCLA has branched out to the Inland Empire in athletics with CSUSB. The Coyotes and Bruins played an exhibition basketball game last November at Ontario's Citizens Business Bank Arena.

“We are pleased that coach Mora and the entire UCLA football staff will begin their fall season here at Cal State San Bernardino,'' CSUSB Director of Athletics Dr. Kevin Hatcher said. “That our two staffs can collaborate on this project is no small undertaking. The cooperation of many individuals and departments here at CSUSB has enabled us to move forward.

“ I know I speak for many as our entire university looks forward to working with and hosting the Bruins and staff as they get ready to begin a new era under coach Mora.''

The first practice is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 4. Practices are open to the public.

The Bruins open the season Aug. 30 in Houston when they take on the Rice Owls.
