Stretch drive
CSUSB (11-8 overall, 9-6 CCAA) plays consecutive home weekend dates for the first time this season when the Coyotes play host to Sonoma State (Friday) and 13th-ranked Humboldt State (Saturday). The Coyotes are tied with defending NCAA champion Cal Poly Pomona for the 4th position in the CCAA with seven games remaining. The top four teams will play host to CCAA Tourney first-round games on March 1.

Losing streak snapped
The Coyotes snapped their 3-game losing streak Saturday night vs. Cal State L.A. The last time CSUSB lost 3 straight CCAA games was during the 2005-06 season.

Things to keep an eye on
Keep an eye on the scoreboard with 5 minutes remaining when the Coyotes are on the court. CSUSB owns a 10-0 record when it is leading with that time frame remaining in the game… The Coyotes have had a tough time coming back from halftime deficits. They are 0-6 when trailing at the half this season… Sophomore Kwame Alexander owns the top FG percentage in both overall and CCAA only games this season. The Moreno Valley native does not meet the NCAA criteria for minimums. If he had, he would rank 23rd in this week's NCAA rankings… The Coyotes do not have a scorer inside the top 20 in the CCAA, but don't be misled. Six different players have scored at least 20 points this season. Leading the way in 20-point games is Alexander with two 20-pointers (23 vs. CSUMB and 22 last Saturday vs. Cal State L.A.)…

Three double-doubles to go
Junior Theron Laudermill and Alexander are the only Coyotes who have earned double-double this season AND in their careers. Laudermill played big in the 88-56 win over Western Washington as he scored 13 points with a career-high 14 rebounds against the Vikings. He went 20 and 15 at UC San Diego on Jan. 20. Alexander earned his first double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds at CSU East Bay on Jan. 22.

On these days in Coyotes history
On Feb. 11, 2010, the Coyotes secured first place in the CCAA with a 76-71 win at Sonoma State. Bryan LeDuc and Aaron Hill each scored 15 points and junior David Jefferson added 12 points and had a key block down the stretch… On Feb. 12, 1999, the Coyotes defeated SFSU 90-68 and extended their winning streak to eight games. Senior Tarron Williams had a double-double with 13 points and game-high 11 rebounds.

Keep 'em under 60, Coyotes
Coach Jeff Oliver likes to tell his players that good things happen when you hold an opponent to less than 60 points. The proof is in the results as the Coyotes own an all-time record of 83-3 when an Oliver-coached team accomplishes that feat. The only three times that CSUSB has not won when it has kept a team under 60 are: a 53-50 loss to Tarleton State in Oliver's maiden season on Dec. 15, 2002, a 57-55 loss to UC San Diego on Feb. 15, 2006, and this season's 59-57 loss at Cal State L.A. (12/3/10).

Home Cooking
The Coyotes have made a habit of winning inside Coussoulis Arena over the years. During Oliver's eight-plus years, CSUSB owns a 101-13 record inside the big white dome on the north side of San Bernardino. In fact, since the 1999-00 season, the Coyotes have gone 141-16, a .902 winning percentage. The 13 home losses vs. CSUSB since Oliver took over are: CSU Dominguez Hills, BYU-Hawaii, Cal Poly Pomona (twice), Concordia Irvine, San Francisco State, UC San Diego, Chico State (twice), Azusa Pacific, Sonoma State, CSU Bakersfield and Alaska Fairbanks.

Climbing the charts
Senior Ryan Kinney ranks 10th in career 3-point FG charts. He has 82 in his career and needs 4 more to tie Chris Mattice (86 – 1999-01) for the 9th spot. Eric Carpenter is the Coyotes' all-time leading 3-point shooter with 188 (1992-94)… Senior Aaron Hill ranks 7th all-time in free throws made. The Compton native has scored 197 in his two-year career and needs 4 to move past Jimmy Alapag for 5th place. Bobby Burries (2000-03) owns the career record with 342 FTs.… Senior Corey Caston ranks 6th in career assists with 238. He needs three more to move past Dana Jimmerson for fifth place all-time. T.K. Reeds is the all-time assists leader with 396.
