Men's CCAA Tournament Preview
For the second year in a row, Cal Poly Pomona will be the top-seed at the 2010 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Basketball Championship Tournament that opens Tuesday, March 2, at campus sites.

The Broncos (20-5, 18-4) claimed a share of the conference's regular-season crown after tying Humboldt State for the CCAA's best record. Cal Poly Pomona earned the No. 1 seed by virtue of winning both meetings against the Lumberjacks.

The Broncos, who finished as NCAA national runner-up a season ago and will be in search of their first-ever CCAA Tournament title, will host Cal State L.A. (14-13, 10-12) in a first-round match-up. Cal Poly Pomona enters the tournament with a school-record 13-game winning streak.

Other first-round contests include No. 7 seed Sonoma State (11-16, 10-12) at No. 2 Humboldt State (21-6, 18-4), No. 6 San Francisco State (17-13, 10-12) at No. 3 Cal State San Bernardino (19-7, 17-5) and No. 5 Chico State (15-12, 11-11) at No. 4 Cal State Dominguez Hills (16-11, 16-6).

San Francisco State, Sonoma State and Cal State L.A. all tied for sixth with 10-12 records and the Gators earned the No. 6 seed based on their better head-to-head record with the Seawolves and Golden Eagles. Sonoma State was slotted seventh by virtue of a better record against tournament teams than Cal State L.A.

Following Tuesday's first-round games, the tournament will shift to Humboldt State's Lumberjack Arena for the semifinals and championship game on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Cal State San Bernardino is the defending tournament champion after posting an 80-78 victory over Cal State Monterey Bay.

Women's Tournament Preview
UC San Diego earned the top seed in next week's postseason tournament for the second year in a row and will host eighth-seeded Cal State Dominguez Hills (10-17, 9-13). The Tritons captured their second consecutive regular-season title after posting a 24-3 overall record, including a 19-3 conference mark.

Cal Poly Pomona (21-5, 18-4), is the No. 2 seed and will host No. 7 Cal State San Bernardino (13-14, 9-13). Third-seeded Chico State (19-8, 16-6) enters the tournament on an eight-game winning streak and will entertain San Francisco State (15-15, 11-11). The final first-round match-up will pit No. 4 Humboldt State (16-10, 14-8) against No. 5 Cal State Monterey Bay (18-8, 14-8).

Four teams, Cal State San Bernardino, Sonoma State, Cal State Stanislaus and Cal State Dominguez Hills tied for seventh with 9-13 records. The four-way tie was broken based on head-to-head play, thus securing a berth for Cal State San Bernardino and eliminating Cal State Stanislaus.

In a two-way tie between Cal State Dominguez Hills and Sonoma State, all tie-breaking criteria were even, thus prompting a coin flip that was won by the Toros.

Cal State Dominguez Hills is the defending tournament champion after defeating Humboldt State, 74-69, in last year's championship game at Coussoulis Arena in San Bernardino.
