The San Bernardino native set the tone in the weekend series against CSUMB with his third complete game and first shutout of the year in a 2-0 win on April 21.

Brooks faced just 31 batters – four over the minimum -- and did not allow an Otter to reach past second base after the first inning.

He retired 14 in a row -- from the last out of the 3rd inning through the first out in the 8th -- and struck out six, did not issue a walk and scattered five hits.
