    BEFORE CAL STATE: Gomes played two years of basketball at Modesto Junior College where she set a single-game record of 13 assists as a freshman and was an all-Big-8 conference selection as a sophomore. She competed in track and won the Big-8 conference title in the javelin last spring.
    HIGH SCHOOL: She is a 2005 graduate of Hilmar High School where she played four years of basketball, earning first-team all-league honors and league MVP twice. She also played four years of softball.
    PERSONAL: Gomes is a kinesiology major. She enjoys riding quad off-road vehicles and camping. Her parents are Nancy and Jorge Gomes. She has three siblings.
    MOST MEMORABLE SPORTS MOMENT: When my high school team geat Harte to go to the D-4 championship in Arco Arena in Sacramento.
    WHY I CHOSE CSUSB: It has a good kinesiology program and sports program.
