Biography
2015-16: The 2015-16 Male Athlete of the Year … Led the Coyotes in both the fall and spring season, scoring an average of 73 strokes per round and capped by earning All-CCAA honors – CSUSB’s first in 5 seasons — and also PING All-West Region honors… Went on to represent the Coyotes at the NCAA Regional this season in Las Cruces, New Mexico; his 3rd NCAA appearance in his career … Finished T48 with 10-over 223 … Won the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout in Vallejo with 6-under 210.
2014-15: Fired the best round of any Coyote this season in the first event of the fall in Goodyear, Ariz. He shot 4-under-par 68 in his opening round, en route to a T5 (5-under 211). Hood played 29 rounds in 10 tourneys and posted five top-20s, two top-10s and broke par on four occasions. His average rounds were: 73.4 (fall) and 75.3 (spring). Hood was one of two Coyotes who played an entire round below par with his T5 at the Western New Mexico Fall Invitational.
2013-14: Participated in in 21 rounds in the spring and eight rounds in the fall for the Coyotes … Qualified as an at-large golfer at the NCAA West/Central Regional at at Grey Rock GC in Austin, Texas … T57 at the event at 15-over 231 … Averaged 75.6 for the spring … Fired spring best 67 in his opening round at Coyote Classic at Arrowhead CC … Best finish with T6 at Coyote Classic with 5-over 215 … Had three top-20 finishes (T19 at SC Intercollegiate and T18 at Cal Baptist Invite) … Finished 27th at CCAA Championships (13-over 229).
2012-13: Played in nine rounds (three tourneys) in fall of 2012 … Average score 75.2 (677 strokes) … Best finish was T25 at Chico State (7-over 223)… Played 18 rounds (six tourneys) in the spring … Performed an average 78.5 (1414 strokes) … Earned one top-20 (T20 Pioneer Shootout) where he fired 23-over 239 (79-77-83).
At Cal State Monterey Bay: Redshirt in 2011-12.
High School: Four-year varsity letter-winner...named Rookie of the Year by team as a freshman...selected to first team All-League as a junior...named co-MVP of team as a junior...led team to a first place league title as a freshman and a senior... Owns career best 65 fired at Eagle Glen.
Personal: Son of Scott and Lisa Hood…has one sister; Alexis…majoring in Business Administration.
