2016-17: Returned to CSUSB after military commitment in Singapore … Averaged 75.3 in two fall tourneys with best finish T7 at CCAA Preview … Played 17 rounds in spring with 75.7 average … One top 10, finishing T7 at Western New Mexico at Palm Valley in suburban Phoenix … Fired 4-under 212 with third-round 68 … Fired an eagle at No. 18 in final collegiate hole during CCAA Championship at Industry Hills GC … CCAA All-Academic.
2012-13: Played both the fall and spring seasons and without question, the top Coyote … In the fall, averaged 74.7 with one top 10 (T9 at Chico 1-over 217) … Fired career-best 68 in final round at InterWest Insurance in Corning … Led the spring squad at 76.2 in 21 rounds (1601 strokes) … Owned four top-20s and one top-10 (T7 at Coyote Classic) … T18 at CCAAs (5-over 221) … Received at-large berth in the NCAA West/South Central Regional in DuPont, Wash., where he T31 at 2-over 218 on the strength of second-round 68.
2011-12: Played in nine rounds and led the team in best average at 74.3 … Fired a season-low 2-under-par 70 in the second round of CCAA championships at Paso Robles … Earned one top 20 in his three events — 13th at the CCAA (even-par 216) … Helped team place fifth at CCAA.
At Mesa Grande Academy: Graduated from the Calimesa private school at the age of 16 ... Played two seasons of golf... Reached CIF in both 2010 and 2011... Qualified for CIF state in 2010... Previously attended Redlands-based Arrowhead Christian Academy and played in the CIFs in 2009... Owns a personal-best round of 67 at the East Valley GC's Champions course... Won 2011 California State boys qualifier at General Old GC with a 68.
Personal: Son of Chua Eng Boon and Alicia Chia... Kinesiology major... Played two seasons (2012-13) with the Coyotes, and returned to CSUSB for the 2016 spring season after fulfilling military obligation in his native Singapore … Picked up the game at 5 and actively played at 6... Grew up in Singapore and moved to Southern California in 2007... Once played nine holes with Hall of Famer and nine-time major winner Gary Player.
