Biography
BEFORE CAL STATE: Gilbert played two years of basketball at Ventura College. He started 18 games, averaging 12.5 points and 7.8 rebounds a game as a sophomore and 10.6 ppg as a freshman.
HIGH SCHOOL: He is a graduat eof John Bowne School in Queens, N.Y.
PERSONAL: Gilbert is a kinesiology major whose goal is to complete his degree work. He enjoys movies, playing pool and video games.
