BEFORE CAL STATE: Earl attended Utah State University in 2006-07 after transferring from Fullerton Community College where he helped lead the Hornets to an undefeated season (37-0) in 2005-06 and the state JC championship. Earl averaged 17.2 points, eight points and two blocked shots per game in his two-year JC stint.

 HIGH SCHOOL: He is a 2003 graduate of Diamond Ranch High School in Pomona where he earned first-team all-league and all-CIF Southern Section honorable mention honors. He also played volleyball.

 PERSONAL: Earl is a political science major with plans to attend law school and become an attorney specializing in real estate. His mother is Jennifer Lyons. He has three siblings.
