Biography

2006-07: Pierce was a facilitator on the court for the Coyotes in his first year at point guard and also helped make life miserable for opponents on defense. Pierce averaged 6.5 points and 2.7 rebounds per game, led the team in steals with 60 and assists with 88. He had a season-high 15 points against Central Washington, a season-high nine assists against Grand Canyon. 

BEFORE CAL STATE: Pierce played two years of basketball at Cuyamaca Community College in San Diego where he was an all-state selection and his conference player of the year. He was also all-conference as a freshman. Pierce averaged 10 points and five assists a game in 2005-06 with a high game of 34 points and 13 assists. 

HIGH SCHOOL: He is a 2004 graduate of Helix High School in La Mesa where he played four years of basketball. He was a two-time all-league pick and the league’s MVP in 2003. 

PERSONAL: Pierce is a communications major who would like a career in sports broadcasting or journalism He has volunteered at Calvary Baptist Church near his home. He enjoys various sports and poker. His mother is Jonita Pierce.

MOST MEMORABLE SPORTS MOMENT – Winning a CIF championship in high school. 

MOST EMBARRASING SPORTS MOMENT – Losing at CIF with five seconds left in the game.
