Tim Bross

The 2025-26 campaign will mark the third season for Tim Bross as the lead assistant on Gus Argenal’s staff. Bross assisted Argenal to the most successful season ever for a first-year head coach at Cal State San Bernardino, as the men’s basketball team won a CCAA Regular Season Championship, a West Region Championship, advanced to the Division II Final Four, and notched a 27-8 record. Additionally, he has helped Argenal to 50 wins in his first two seasons, the most in CSUSB history.

"Tim Bross is one of the most talented and respected coaches on the West Coast," said Argenal when hiring Tim. "We are very fortunate to have a coach that has Division I, II, and III experience and was a sitting head coach for three years. Along with great experience, Tim brings elite winning. He has impacted recruiting and the competitiveness of every program he has served."

Bross assists Argenal with all phases of the program, including coaching, player development, scouting, fundraising, scheduling, and academic oversight. The Yotes earned a 3.09 cumulative GPA in the fall of 2024.

He also serves as recruiting coordinator and oversaw a 2023 recruiting class that yielded 10 transfers and multiple starters, including the 2024 NCAA Division II West Region Tournament Most Valuable Player, Chris Mitchell. The 2024 recruiting class featured transfers Evan Oliver and Andrew Henderson, both All-CCAA First Team honorees. Oliver was also selected to the D2 CCAA All-West Region Second Team. A third transfer, Nic Welp, was named All-CCAA Honorable Mention.

Bross has found success in recruiting at every stop of his coaching career, having recruited and coached more than 30 players to all-conference honors. Additionally, Bross has coached nearly 25 student-athletes that have signed contracts to play professional basketball.

A respected tactician and skills coach, Bross aided in the development of senior transfers Evan Oliver and Andrew Henderson:

Under his tutelage, Oliver increased his scoring average from 12.6 points per game in 2023-2024 to 15.1 points in 2024-2025. Additionally, Oliver improved as a 3-point shooter from 2023-2024 to 2024-2025 by making 34 more 3s and increasing his 3-point field goal percentage from 31.0% (26-84 3FG) to 34.9% (60-172 3FG). He also led the CCAA in steals and assists in 2024-2025. During the 2023-2024 campaign, Oliver averaged 1.2 assists per game. He increased that mark by more than four assists per game (5.7 ast) en route to the CCAA passing crown.

Henderson scored 11.6 points per game in 2023-2024 and increased his scoring average to 17.3 points per game with the Yotes in 2024-2025. He shot 36.6% from 3, 47.0% from the floor, and 78.9% from the line at CSUSB. The year prior, Henderson shot 30.2% from 3, 42.8% from the field, and 73.8% from the stripe.  Henderson averaged six more minutes per game for the Yotes, and more than doubled his steals from last year – earning 50 swipes this season versus 22 last year
