Men's Basketball Introduces 2025-26 Roster

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -  California State University San Bernardino men's basketball head coach Chris Tifft introduced his 2025-26 roster on Wednesday afternoon. 

The class includes 15 newcomers, 11 of which are transfers and four freshmen, as well as two returners from last year's roster.

The full 2025-26 men's basketball roster is listed below.

Amound Anderson II - Anderson, a redshirt senior from Gardena, Calif., comes to Cal State San Bernardino after a season at Chaminade University in Hawaii where he averaged 13.4 points and 2.0 steals per game. He has made stops at Fullerton College and two Division I schools in Cal State Northridge and Southern Utah.

Fallou Cisse - Cisse is the first of two returners to the Cal State San Bernardino men's basketball program. Last season, he appeared in eight games for the Coyotes off the bench, and was a key defensive piece for the Yotes on their run to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Xavier Clinton - Clinton joins the CSUSB program as a freshman after graduating from Damien High School. He averaged 17.7 points, 4.9, helping the Spartans to a Baseline league title, a 28-6 record which included a spot in the CIF Division I state playoffs. He also spent a year of post-graduate at SoCal Academy.

Gavin Davis - Davis, a redshirt senior from Carson, Calif., comes to CSUSB from Division I UC Riverside where he appeared in 32 games for a program that made their first NIT appearance last season. Before his time in Riverside, he spent two years at West Los Angeles College where he was named first team all-conference in his sophomore year.

Elijah Edwards - Edwards, a junior forward from Hemet, Calif., comes to CSUSB from Mt. San Jacinto College in nearby San Jacinto. Edwards led the Eagles in scoring at 15.6 points per game and was named to the Inland Empire Athletic Conference First Team.

Javon Ervin - Ervin, a senior from Tacoma, Wash., joins the CSUSB program from Division I Mount St. Mary's in Maryland. In his lone season there, he averaged 5.1 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game for the Mountaineers, who won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament and advanced to the NCAA Tournament where Ervin started. Prior to his time at Mount St. Mary's, Ervin spent two seasons at Peninsula College in Washington state, and he averaged 19.2 points per game in his sophomore season.

Christian Fernandez - Fernandez joins the CSUSB program as a freshman after graduating from San Clemente High School, where he was named league MVP in his junior and senior seasons, helping the Tritons to consecutive South Coast League titles. He also averaged 20.8 points per game for San Clemente, and was a two-time league most valuable player.

Aidan Fowler - Fowler joins the CSUSB program after spending last season at Cal Poly Humboldt under Coach Tifft. He was named CCAA Freshman of the Year after averaging 11.2 points per game while shooting 36.7 percent from distance and was a key part of a Lumberjack team that advanced to the CCAA Tournament and had the program's best record in a decade.

Court Franklin - Franklin, like Fowler, comes to CSUSB from Cal Poly Humboldt where he appeared in 22 games for the Lumberjacks this past season. Prior to his time at Humboldt, the senior forward spent two years at Santa Ana College, where he averaged 7.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game during his sophomore year and was named an Orange Empire Conference honorable mention that season.

Walter Hamilton - Hamilton, a redshirt senior from Lake Center, Miss., comes to CSUSB from Division I Mississippi Valley State where he spent the past three seasons. Prior to his time at MVSU, he spent two years at Itawamba Community College, also in Mississippi, where he recorded 190 points, 217 rebounds, and blocked 60 shots over 35 games.

Kaylon Mason - Mason, a junior forward from Fresno, Calif., joins the CSUSB program from Ranger College in Texas, where he spent the past two seasons. This past season, Mason averaged 14.8 points and 9.0 rebounds per game while shooting 54 percent from the field. For his efforts, he was named Second Team All-Conference in the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference.

Malachi Murrell - Murrell is the second returner on the Coyote roster, but did not see any game action last year as he took a redshirt season. Before coming to San Bernardino, he spent two seasons at CCAA rival Cal Poly Pomona, where he played in 52 games over two seasons.

Zion Paleo - Paleo, a native of Diamond Bar, Calif., joins the CSUSB program as a freshman after graduating from Veritas Academy in Chino Hills, Calif. He had a successful season during the 2023-24 campaign, averaging 13.3 points and 4.3 assists per game for Veritas in the Nike EYBL Scholastic circuit. Before his time at Veritas Academy, Paleo spent two years at Orange Lutheran High School where was a CIF-Southern Section Division 2AA first team selection during the 2022-23 year.

Pablo Soumare - Soumare, a sophomore forward from Dakar, Senegal, comes to CSUSB from Division I Nebraska-Omaha where he appeared in 14 games for the Mavericks, who won both the Summit League regular season and conference tournament and earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Simon Tilahun - Tilahun, a redshirt junior from West Covina, Calif., joins the program from Cal State Fullerton. Before his time at Fullerton, he redshirted the 2023-24 campaign at Cal State Northridge. His high school diploma comes from LA Premier Prep, and he also attended Los Altos High School and Orange Lutheran High School.

Mathew Wilson - Wilson, a freshman guard from Newbury Park, Calif., joins the CSUSB program as a freshman after graduating from St. Bonaventure High School in Ventura, Calif. In his senior season, Wilson averaged 18 points, 5.9 rebounds, and two steals per game, was named Tri-Valley League Player of the Year as well as a first team CIF-Southern Section Division 2A First Team Selection. St. Bonaventure also advanced to the CIF-SS Division 2A finals in each of the past three seasons.

Max Zylicz - Zylicz, a sophomore guard from Gdansk, Poland, comes to CSUSB from Palomar College where he was coached by former CSUSB assistant coach Ivan Patterson. In his lone season at Palomar, Zylicz averaged 13.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, while shooting 85-215 (.395) from beyond the arc and was named to the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference First Team.


The Coyotes will open their 2025-26 season in Canada with games against Central Washington, Western Washington, and Simon Fraser from October 31 to November 2.
