SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The CSUSB men's basketball team rebounded from their first loss of the season with a commanding performance against San Francisco State on Saturday afternoon. With the 86-67 triumph, the Yotes improved to 3-1 in the CCAA and 7-1 overall.

Jalen Flanagan started the scoring for the Yotes against his former school, executing a left-handed layup inside the paint and earning an and-one opportunity. Flanagan concluded the game with 9 points against his former team and collected 8 rebounds, seven of which were defensive boards.
Robby Robinson entered the scoring column in the 16th minute of the game, securing an offensive rebound and converting it for a basket while also drawing a foul for another and-one opportunity.
Robinson fell just short of another double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. He went 7-for-15 from the field and 1-for-3 from beyond the arc, while also contributing 3 assists.
The first half remained competitive, with the score tied at 19-19 and less than 9 minutes left on the clock. At the 8:25 mark, the Yotes' strong defense, led by
Bryce Mitchell and
Robby Robinson, created a turnover that resulted in a layup by
Chris Mitchell.
LeAndrew Knight added to the pressure on the Gators by stealing an inbound pass and converting another layup.
Chris Mitchell had another impressive performance, scoring 16 points, dishing out 5 assists, and grabbing 7 rebounds. Mitchell went 7-for-10 from the field.
LeAndrew Knight was the only non-starting Yotes player to score 15 points, going 7-for-10 from the field and showcasing his all-around skills with 4 assists and 4 steals.
Closing out the half with a 12-9 run against the Gators, the Yotes maintained their lead, heading into halftime with a score of 38-29.
The Yotes carried on their offensive dominance in the second half. After securing a defensive rebound, Robinson led the charge before passing the ball to
Sedrick Altman, who dunked over the Gator defender.
Sedrick Altman concluded the game with 16 points, shooting 7-for-12 from the field and 2-for-6 from beyond the arc.
The Yotes retained the lead for most of the second half, with a 20-point lead at its peak, punctuated by another dunk by Altman with 2:40 left on the clock.
