RIVERSIDE (Sept. 16, 2017) — CSUSB competed in Saturday's UC Riverside Invitational, finishing 22
nd in the 6,000-meter race.
The University of Arkansas won the event with 36 points.
The Coyotes competed with eight runners in the event with
Julia Cantrell leading the way, finishing 97
th in 22 minutes, 5.10 seconds.
Michelle Pineda Palacios was 116
th (22:17.2); followed by: 130.
Rachel Gee 22:27.6; 165.
Destiny Jacobo 23:14.0; 184.
Lauren Boydd 23:57.2; 187.
Angelina Perez 24:03.8; 203.
Phillie Bacon 24:49.3; and 211.
Katie Aguilar 25:22.6.
Cantrell's time is the ninth fastest in school history.
Competing in the open 5000 were

th, 21:14.5) and
Cynthia Boyzo (237
th, 22:01.4).
"We placed eighth among non-Division I schools,'' head coach
Tom Burleson said. "Most of the girls ran PRs today. We're a young team and still learning how race our first 6K for most. Overall a good day and we look forward to next running at home.''
CSUSB plays host to its annual Coyote Challenge at its on-campus trail Saturday. A men's race also will be run.
