Coyotes put a five-spot on HSU

SAN BERNARDINO (Oct. 8, 2017) — CSUSB spread the wealth with its best offensive output in a CCAA game in six seasons in its 5-0 win over visiting Humboldt State on Senior Day on Sunday at Premier Field.

About the five goals
The five goals scored by the Coyotes were the most since Sept. 6, 2014, in their 5-1 win over nonconference Dominican. However, the scoring output was their most in a conference game since a 6-2 win over Cal State East Bay on Sept. 30, 2011.

Five Coyotes, five goals
Scoring for CSUSB were: Anna Pinedo, Sarah Bradley Alexia Gonzalez, Rachael Figg and Haidee Duran. Pineda, Figg, Heather Melgar and Nicki Argenteria all earned assists.

Second-half power
The Coyotes entered the game with just two second-half goals this season. Four of their five goals all came in the final 45 minutes.

The record
CSUSB snapped a three-game losing streak and takes a 6-6-1 overall record and 4-4 CCAA record into this weekend's games at Stanisaus State (Friday) and Chico State (Saturday),

Congrats Seniors
CSUSB honored its nine seniors — Argentieri, Bradley, Figg, Melgar, Pinedo, Moani Rivers, Saida Sandoval, Bianca Scodellaro and Arielle Stoyanow — in a pregame ceremony.

Coach Says
"Many things clicked for us and it was great to see,'' head coach LeBaron Hollimon said. "A great senior send-off performance. And so pleased that every senior had a chance to showcase their abilities. I liked our offensive output today, and I'm thrilled we played that way on the offensive end and kept the slate clean on the defensive end. Very proud of our focus and commitment that every player approached today's game.''
