Box Score SAN BERNARDINO (Feb. 28, 2015) -- Jacob Thomas and
Gilbert Parga accounted for more than half of the Coyotes' offensive production in Saturday night's 71-62 loss to UC San Diego on Senior Night at Coussoulis Arena.
Thomas scored a game-high 17 points and Parga followed with 16 for CSUSB (12-13, 12-10 CCAA), which now prepares for this week's CCAA Tournament in Stockton. The sixth-seed Coyotes play No. 3 Humboldt State at 8:15 p.m. Thursday at Stockton Arena with the winner advancing to Friday's semifinals against No. 2 Cal Poly Pomona.
CSUSB grabbed a 2-0 lead 15 seconds into the game and that was the last time it held a lead. UCSD, which led by as many as 17 in the first half, held double-digit leads until late in the game.
The Tritons shot 52.3 percent from the floor and showed their depth, outscoring the Coyotes 35-5 on bench points.
In fact, CSUSB was stronger from the free throw line than any other facet in its shooting. THe Coyotes were 27 of 33 (81.8 percent), but just 15 of 50 from the floor.
Adam Kile and Grant Jackson each scored 13 for UCSD, 16-10 and 14-8.
