Box Score

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Dec. 18, 2014) -- Cal State San Bernardino nearly rallied from an 11-point deficit late in its 74-71 loss to No. 12 Drury at the South Point Holiday Hoops Classic, played at South Point Arena.

Senior guard Isaiah Morton scored a game-high 24 points and junior guard Jacob Thomas added 11 for the Coyotes, who are now 2-4 overall heading into Friday's game against Western Washington. Tipoff is 3:30 p.m.

Morton sank a pair of free throws with 7:14 left to tie the game at 51-51 but Drury struck back with a flurry for what seemed to be an insurmountable lead.

Drury outscored the Coyotes 11-0 in a three-minute span and led 62-51 on a free throw from Cameron Adams with 4:01 left.

But the Coyotes came back with an answer of their own with a 12-3 run. Gilbert Parga added two free throws and Taylor Statham came up with a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to six.

Drury responded with a basket from Bundy and another free throw from Adams before CSUSB got going again with seven unanswered points -- a 3-pointer from Morton, a layup from Thomas and a pair of free throws from senior Tevin Harris and the Coyotes were back in the game, 65-63 with 51 seconds left.

CSUSB, though, never got closer than two points down the stretch as Drury hit 7-of-8 from the line in the final minute for the three-point margin of victory.

Morton finished 6-of-14 from the field with four 3-pointers and was 8-of-9 from the line in 38 minutes of play. Thomas was 3-of-12 with one 3-pointer and senior Taylor Statham had nine points with a team-high eight rebounds in just 20 minutes.

Both team had 19 turnovers, but Drury converted the CSUSB miscues into 30 points, compared to 15 for the Coyotes.

CSUSB also stayed in the game thanks to its ability from the line, hitting 19 of 21 shots -- good for a season-high 90.5 percent.

Bundy led the Panthers (7-1) with 17 points and Adams followed with 14.
