CARSON -- Senior Kwame Alexander scored 15 of his game-high 21 points in the second half and Cal State San Bernardino pulled away from host Cal State Dominguez Hills 80-71 in CCAA men's basketball Saturday night.

The Coyotes extended their consecutive road victory streak to nine after playing their sixth straight game away from Coussoulis Arena.

CSUSB, 14-3 overall and 12-2 CCAA, now prepare for Friday night's showdown against league-leading Cal Poly Pomona at Coussoulis. The Broncos are one game ahead of the Coyotes in the loss-column, despite CSUSB handing CPP its only loss of the season -- a 67-63 victory on Jan. 5.

The game against the Toros saw CSUSB dominate in the second half, after trailing 43-41 at halftime. The Coyotes shot 54.2 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes on 13 of 24 shooting and finished the night at 51 percent (26-51).

Junior Brian Goins kept the Coyotes in the game in the first halff as he scored 15 of his 19 in the opening 20 minutes.
Sophomore Jamari Simmons kicked in 13 -- three 3-pointers -- and junior guard Lacy Haddock dished out 11 assists a team-high this season.

Haddock became the first Coyote to dish out at least 10 assists since Hakeem Washington handed out 10 vs. Cal State East Bay on Jan. 14, 2012.

In the second half, Simmons gave the Coyotes the lead for good when he hit a 3-pointer that put CSUSB up 59-56 wtih 10:07 left.

CSUDH got to within one twice, but all season long the Coyotes have proven to be a second-half team. They improved to 7-1 when they trail at halftime.

The win also helped the Coyotes to their best road winning streak since the 2003-04 squad won 10 straight away from Coussoulis.

Lamine Diame led the Toros (10-11, 6-8) with 16 points.
