Laura, who established the school record in a 5,000-meter cross country race, is this week's CCAA Runner of the Week and co-CSUSB Athlete of the Week.

The El Monte native ran the event held at Fullerton's Ted Craig Regional Park in 16 minutes, 35.08 seconds, breaking the school record by nearly one minute (17:34 Patricia Cortez, 2014).
