Tyler was stellar in his first outing for the Coyotes, throwing six shut-out innings and striking out 12 in a 1-0 victory at Sonoma State in the teams' season and CCAA 2016 openers.

He struck out the first five batters faced and the first eight outs of the ball game were via strikeout. Wells threw no-hit ball against the Seawolves through five innings and after allowing just two hits and one walk, left the game after six innings and secured the victory with the help of relievers Joshua Murtha and William Ouellette.

He is this week's CCAA Pitcher of the Week.
