    2007: Hernandez made three appearances, all in relief, before arm trouble sidelined him for the balance of the season. He struck out six batters in seven innings of work with a 4.91 earned run average.
    BEFORE CAL STATE: He was a pitcher at Palomar College near Escondido.
    HIGH SCHOOL: Hernandez is a 2003 graduate of Oceanside High School where he played four years of baseball. he was the team MVP as a junior and senior and first-team all-San Diego County both years.
    PERSONAL: He is majoring in Spanish. His immediate goal is to play professional baseball. Away from the sport he enjoys listening to music, watching movies and going to the beach. His parents are Jose and Cecilia Hernandez.
