Joe Alldis was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association co-player of the week in men's golf for his solid effort at the Grand Canyon University Fall Invitational at Estrella Mountain Ranch in Goodyear, Ariz.
Alldis tied for fifth place in the field of 90 golfers with an even par total of 216 for 54 holes. He shot three-under par for the final 36 holes on rounds of 70 and 71 after opening with a three-over 75 on day one of the tournament. His scoring helped the Coyotes finish eighth in the 18-team field.
Sharing player of the week honors with Alldis was Sylvester Gama of Chico State, who tied with Alldis at 216 and helped the Wildcats finish third in the team scoring with a score of 866, three shots behind the winner. His scores matched those of Alldis.
The Coyotes return to action in the Sonoma State Invitational on Oct. 18-21.
