Travis Clarke continued the line of success in the women’s soccer program in his first year as head coach. Now in his second year at the helm of the Coyotes, Clarke looks to take CSUSB to the postseason for the first time since 2003.

Last year, Clarke led the Coyotes to a 10-8-2 mark, notching the fourth best record in the South Division in the CCAA. That record was better than the North Division winner, but left CSUSB just out of postseason contention. His 9-5-2 record in the CCAA set the school's record for most wins in a conference season.

Before Cal State San Bernardino, Clarke compiled a 29-27-1 record in three seasons (2006-08) at NCAA Division II Hawaii-Hilo, bringing his career record to 39-35-3, including a 10-8-2 mark in 2009 at CSUSB.

The Vulcans went 4-12-1 in his first year at the helm of a first-year program, but went 12-8-0 in 2007 and 13-7-0 in 2008 and were ranked in the West Region top 10 in his final seasons. Hawaii-Hilo posted 19 shutouts over the last two seasons and was one of the most improved programs in Division II in 2007 (plus 8 wins).

In 2008, Hawaii-Hilo scored 47 goals while only giving up 18 and set program records for goals scored, fewest goals allowed, goals against average, most wins, most shutouts and longest win streak.

Clarke recruited and developed Karren Weatherby (2006 Pacific West Conference player of the year),  Vanessa Butin (2007 PWC newcomer of the year) and Adele Letro (2008 NSCAA All-Far West Region third team).

He has three years of assistant coaching experience at the community college level (Santa Barbara City College and Hancock Community College) and eight years of high school coaching experience at Atascadero and Nipomo high schools. While at Atascadero, Clarke coached three NSCAA high school All-Americans (Robby Busick, Jon Mooney and Todd Combs).

Clarke is licensed by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America at the highest level of coaching education. He currently holds the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Premier Coaching Diploma as well as the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) National Youth License.

He has extensive club coaching experience as the former director of coaching and player development of Atletico Madrid Premier Soccer Club and coaching and training positions within the California Legends Club (Santa Barbara), Ha'aheo Soccer Club in Hilo and Livonia City Soccer Club in Livonia, Mich. He served as an Olympic Development Program (ODP) state coach for the Hawaii Youth Soccer Association and was an assistant coach for the Women's State Team in the California Soccer Association South division in 2006. In addition, Clarke is a regional director for Team Soccer Direct Camps, based in Southern California.

Clarke served in the U.S. Navy from 1995 to 1998. While in the Navy, he visited and played competitive soccer in 14 different countries and completed three separate deployments in the western Pacific Ocean aboard the USS New Orleans and the USS Tarawa.

He is the chairman of the NSCAA Division II Far West ranking committee and was a member of the NCAA Division II Regional Advisory Committee in 2008.

Clarke is currently the head coach the girls under 17 team for alliance football club in San Bernardino.

He is a 2003 graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a bachelor's degree in political science. He has a master’s of education degree in leadership and administration (2006), also from Cal Poly SLO.

He and his wife, Kimberli Keller Clarke, currently reside in Rancho Cucamonga and recently welcomed their first child, Calix, in May.
