Kurt Stange is in his 13th season as Associate Head Coach of the Cal State San Bernardino baseball team, focusing primarily on the pitchers and their progress.
He joined the Coyotes staff in 1996 after successful coaching stints at San Bernardino Valley College, University of Southern Colorado (now Colorado State-Pueblo), Fontana High School and the California Angels Elite club team.
The Chicago native attended University of Iowa where he was an NCAA Division I baseball and basketball player. He was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 1987 June amateur draft and was the Midwest League MVP in 1988 while playing for a team in Wausau, Wis.
In 1989, Stange pitched for the San Bernardino Spirit of the Class A California League, where he met his wife, Della. Elbow pain and unsuccessful surgery cut short his promising pitching career.
In addition to his coaching damends, Stange is an athletic apparel sales representative. He lives in Moreno Valley with wife Della and his two children, Hannah and Josh.
