Noah Kooiman heads into his seventh season has head coach of the Coyotes’ men’s soccer team, after his Coyotes posted the best season in his career.

The 2010 season was nearly a record-breaking season as CSUSB went 15-6-1 and reached the NCAA West Region Tournament for the first time since 1991. The Coyotes were just one win away from tying the school record of 16 wins set in that 1991 season. The 11-4-1 conference record also set a school record for most wins in a CCAA season.

Kooiman steps into the season with a 45-66-10 career record. He has the second most wins in program history.

Prior to his appointment he was the assistant to Coach Christian Johnson for three seasons (2001-03)

Kooiman is a 1993 graduate of Cal State Fullerton where he played soccer and was team captain in his junior and senior seasons. He continues to work on a master’s degree in special education and has taught special education at Chaffey High School.

He has coached at various levels of soccer, most recently as an assistant and trainer for the 45-team Alta Loma Arsenal club. He also served as head men’s coach at San Bernardino Valley College in 2001

Kooiman played two years of professional soccer with the Los Angeles Cobras and L.A. Salsa. He is a 1987 graduate of Chaffey HS. He has a daughter, Berkeley, and three sons – Eric Salazar, Kros and Kort Kooiman. Kooiman is a Rancho Cucamonga resident.
