WALNUT CREEK -- Senior
Kwame Alexander, and juniors
Brian Goins and
Lacy Haddock were named to the 2012-13 All-CCAA men's basketball honors squads, the conference office announced Tuesday morning.
Alexander and Goins were named first team, while Haddock was selected to the second team.
Alexander is only Coyote in history to have at least 800 points, 500 rebounds and 60 blocks in a career. The Moreno Valley native leads the CCAA in scoring (16.1) and rebounds (8.7) and has more double-doubles (nine) than any other player in the conference this season. He ranks in seven top-10 career categories and will add an eighth (field goal percentage) when the season is completed.
Goins has stood out immensely in his first year with the Coyotes after transferring from Diablo Valley College. He ranks first on the team in double-figure point games (20) and has scored at least 20 points in six games.
He also was named the conference's Newcomer of the Year.
Haddock, a transfer from Central Washington, established the single game school record for assists with 14 this past Thursday against San Francisco State. He leads the conference in minutes played (36.3) and has nine 40-minute games to his credit. He also leads the league in assists (4.72) and averages 12 points a game.
The Coyotes, who earned the second seed in this week's CCAA Tournament, take on seventh-seed UC San Diego at 7 p.m. at Coussoulis Arena in a first-round contest.
