Box Score 2 RIVERSIDE --
Alyssa Flores connected on a two-run home run, but it wasn't enough as the Coyotes lost 7-4 to Cal Baptist in nonconference softball Tuesday night.
Earlier, the Lancers scored their only run on a wild pitch from Kaitlynn Randall in the first inning and that was enough for CBU in the opener, which won 1-0.
Britney Butler was 3-for-3 with an RBI.
Monica Ferguson had the team's only other RBI. Butler was the only Coyote who had more than one hit.
In the opener, Butler had two of the Coyotes' three hits -- all singles.
Randall settled down after the opening inning. She had four strikeouts with three walks and scattered four hits in six innings.
The Coyotes (7-11) are at Cal State Dominguez Hills in a weekend series that begins Friday.
