Obi Agwu is CCAA player of the week in men's soccer

    WALNUT CREEK — Cal State San Bernardino forward Obi Agwu has been named Wilson/California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Aug. 30 - Sep. 5, it was announced on Tuesday. 
    Agwu, a senior from Alta Loma, totaled eight points (four goals) during a pair of victories over Saint Martin's and Colorado State-Pueblo last weekend. 
    In the Coyotes' season-opening 3-1 win over Saint Martin's, the 2009 Great Northwest Conference champion, on Thursday, Agwu scored twice and followed that effort with two more goals during a 3-0 victory over Colorado State-Pueblo. 
    Agwu, an all-CCAA and all-West Region selection in 2009, now has 25 goals and 13 assists in his three-plus years at CSUSB for 63 points. He is now tied with Mark Texter (1984-87) for fourth on the CSUSB all-time goals scored list and he has now tied Texter for No. 4 on the all-time points list with 63.
