SAN JACINTO -- Cal State San Bernardino senior golfer
Kenny Pigman wound up in sixth place at the 2010 Inland Empire Amateur Golf Tournament, finishing the 54-hole tournament with a score of 214, one over par over three different Riverside County courses.
Pigman shot rounds of 70 at Moreno Valley Ranch, 72 at Goose Creek and 72 at Country Club of Soboba Springs to wind up six shots back of San Bernardino's Scott Clayton, who won the tournament for the second year in a row.
Former CSUSB golfer
Joe Alldis tied for fourth place with a 54-hole total of 212, one under par on rounds of 72-70-70.
CSUSB sophomore
Jacob Lynch also competed in the tournament, shooting an opening round 71 at Moreno Valley Ranch's Mountain Course that included a hole-in-one on the seventh hole. Lynch fell from contention thereafter.
Also in the field was former CSUSB golfer Dane Bagnell, who shot 70 on day one but was not a factor thereafter.
Clayton, a former UC Riverside player and the brother of former CSUSB golfer Bill Clayton, said he plans to turn pro this week.
The Coyotes open the 2010-11 season on Oct. 3-5 at the Grand Canyon University Fall Invitational in Goodyear, Ariz.
