Gene Webster Jr. won his first professional tournament

Webster Jr. helped CSUSB to its best finish in school history in 2009 as the national runners-up.

RIVERSIDE — The professional career picked up where the amateur career stopped. Gene Webster Jr. cemented his named in the halls of Cal State San Bernardino golf and now is well on his way as a professional.

The three-time NCAA All-American for the Coyotes won the FNGA Oneida Warrior Championship at Thornberry Creek Country Club in Oneida, Wis. Webster Jr. shot a 68-71-72, winning by nine shots.

Webster Jr. was the 2009-10 CSUSB Male Athlete of the Year after a fantastic senior season in which he set the school record for lowest round twice with a 63.
